Memeyat is a search engine for memes. It asks for no account, name or email, and keeps as little information as it can.
What we keep
Searches: the text you typed, the page's language, whether sensitive memes were shown, the memes in the results, and which meme you opened, downloaded, copied or shared. We use them to improve search; they contain no IP address and nothing that identifies you.
A visitor code: when you download, copy, share, vote, or send a meme, a note or a request, we keep a scrambled code made from your IP address with a secret key. It lets us set daily limits per visitor, stop spam, and tell whether the same search came from several people. Your IP address itself is not stored.
What you send us: the images you upload, your notes and your requests.
One cookie, named mv, holding a random number so the site remembers your votes. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
Images you upload
Every image is checked automatically first. Explicit sexual or violent images are refused and not kept; we keep only their fingerprint, to recognize them if they are sent again.
We remove an image's hidden data, such as the location a phone photo was taken. An image stays private until we have checked it; once published, anyone can find and download it.
Services we use
Cloudflare: hosts the site and stores the images, and checks that you are not a robot on forms (Turnstile). Like any host, it handles technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
Supabase: the database, on servers in Frankfurt, Germany.
AI (Google's models through OpenRouter): your search text is sent so the site can understand what it means, and uploaded images so they can be checked and described. Nothing that identifies you is sent with them.
Your rights
Since we do not know who you are, we cannot link this data to you. If you sent something and want it removed, or you appear in a meme and want it taken down, use "Something to tell us about this meme?" on the meme's page, or write to contact@memeyat.com.
Changes
If we add ads or user accounts, we will update this page before we do. The date at the top shows the last change.
